Gasthaus Krone in Oy-Mittelberg

Very good food, excellent pork knuckle and roast pork. Small place with a wonderful view over the Allgäu.

We stayed for 3 nights and it was very nice. The house is older and the room furnishings are accordingly super clean and absolutely not noisy. We slept great. The food is terrific, that's all you can say about it. The service was very nice and quick. Definitely worth a visit. We'd love to come back.

We had booked the hiking tour E5 with Hagen Tours, with a pre-booking of 3 days and one day after the beautiful tour. However, the boss of the Gasthaus Krone at reception is overwhelmed. The boss only belongs in the kitchen (food was great). After the 2nd night we were put in another room - without prior agreement. That makes you mad. Now it got even bigger. After our exhausting tour there was no room for us or our hiking friend. Oh dear Hagen Tours took care of it and we got one night in the hotel "Am Sonnenhang", where everything was great. Now one day of vacation was gone. Hagen Tours should think about recommending such a partner as Gasthaus Krone.

The host was a bit unfriendly. Wanted to take 2 rolls because I don't have breakfast, he refused. I should pay € 2 even though I have already paid for breakfast. As a starter there was only a thin column of melon. Everyone thought it was funny.

Living tradition

We had two rooms, each facing the outside wall and both were cold. The rooms and the hotel service was basically good. The owner very friendly. The only thing I would complain about was that the children's meal in the restaurant was only served 5 minutes after the other meals. Personally, I think that's absurd (even working in service). Children's meals are served first.

The food is delicious. Right at the beginning there was a free greeting from the kitchen (bread with lard). Every dish was excellent. We didn't even have to wait long for the food. The prices are absolutely okay for the good quality. The staff was very friendly and attentive. As soon as we finished with a dish, it was cleared away. Gladly again!
